Why I wash my face with oil

This is a long post. So, please bear with me.  I have a very oily T-zone but dry cheeks. Worse, I suffer from hormonal and cystic acne. Most of the time, I have irregular monthly period, so my hormones are out of whack. I get comedogenic acne on my forehead no matter how many times I have switched shampoo brands (I tried baby, organic, shop-bought, and even dry shampoos). Every month, I get two or three cystic acne on my cheeks and chin. I have uneven skin tone; inflamed skin; and VERY GREASY face at the end of the day. I...

How to make your handmade soap "last" long in the shower

Okay. So, I assume that you have tried handmade soaps. And that you have noticed that it did not last long in your shower. In fact, you might have also discovered that your handmade soap became slimy after just one use.  So, here's the thing: handmade soaps are different than other commercially produced ones. Why use all-natural skin care products?

There are already tons of organic skin care products in the market, online and offline. People are now more self-conscious and mindful of what they eat and what they put on their skin. Yet, commercial products still eat a big chunk in the cosmetics industry.  There are several reasons, I think, why consumers still buy cosmetics with chemical ingredients. As a stay at home Mom, I am fully aware of the struggles in eliminating toxic products at home and switching to all-natural skincare. 1. Organic skincare products are not cheap. This is a reality. When I buy our produce from the...

Our handmade soaps are here!

Our handmade soaps are here!

Yes! After more than three months of curing, our cold processed soaps are now here! I began making soaps in my kitchen late last year, and I felt that the long wait was really worth it. My first batch of oatmeal soap wasn't good enough to sell, but nevertheless, my sisters and help loved it.  I have oily and acne-prone skin, so I need a body soap that is gentle to use and baby-friendly. Based on my more-than-a-year research (soapmaking has been stuck in the back of my head for a couple of years now), I learned that castile soaps...
